How to Use Our Itineraries

Use the webpage while you have an internet connection, or download the PDF to take the guide with you offline.

The exact steps and menu names may vary depending on your device and app version.

Using the online guide

Open the itinerary in your browser. Tap a numbered stop in the contents to jump to its description, or follow the guide from the beginning. You can enlarge the route maps. The numbered markers on each map are clickable links: tap a number to jump to that stop’s description.

Bookmark the page so it is easy to find again. You can also use your browser’s Add to Home Screen option, where available. This creates a shortcut, not an offline copy.

Taking the PDF offline

  1. Download the itinerary PDF while you have internet access, ideally over Wi-Fi.
  2. Save it on your device, somewhere you can find it again, such as Files or Downloads. Simply opening a preview is not enough.
  3. Open the saved file in a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the numbered links do not respond in your browser or current viewer, try a dedicated PDF reader.

The saved PDF includes the guide, photographs and route maps. You do not need to scroll through it from beginning to end: tap a numbered stop in the contents, a numbered marker on a map, or a return link to jump between sections. These links within the PDF are designed to work offline in a compatible PDF reader. Links to websites and Mapy.com still need an internet connection when first opened.

Some browsers can save webpages for offline reading, but features and images may not all work. For this guide, the PDF is our recommended offline version.

Using Mapy.com (optional)

You can follow the guide using its included maps, without installing another app. For an interactive map and your current location, you can also use the Mapy.com app.

Before your walk, while online:

  1. Install Mapy.com and sign in to an account.
  2. In Offline maps, download Czechia or the region covering your walk. The free version currently allows offline maps for one country.
  3. Open our Mapy.com route link. If it opens in your browser, choose to open it in the app where offered. Save the route to My Mapy and let the app finish synchronising.
  4. Turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data briefly, then check that both the saved route and map open in the app.

When offline, open the saved route from My Mapy rather than tapping the original web link. Downloading the PDF does not download the Mapy.com maps or save its route for you.

Before you set out

Turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data briefly and check that your saved PDF opens. If you are using Mapy.com, check that your saved route and downloaded map open too. Do this before leaving somewhere with an internet connection.
