About Savvy Trip Guides

Savvy Trip Guides grew out of a love of exploring Prague and the Czech countryside—and a wish to help visitors get more out of their time here.

Originally from England, I moved to the Czech Republic many years ago and have lived in several places here, including Prague. I love exploring the city and discovering the history behind its streets and buildings, but I’m just as happy hiking in the countryside.

After meeting visitors who were lost or unsure where to go, I began thinking about how I could help. Savvy Trip Guides and my connected project, Prague Explained, bring together my enjoyment of researching, discovering places and planning trips.

I prepare the guides myself, walking the routes as part of the process and adding my own photographs along the way. Each itinerary brings together directions, practical details and some background and history about the places you’ll visit, helping you find your way and get more out of your trip.

The itineraries are designed for independent travellers who enjoy exploring at their own pace.

Savvy Trip Guides is a personal project and a growing collection of free itineraries. I’m learning about website building and design as I go, too. I hope the guides help you feel more confident exploring—and discover a little more along the way.
